Discover how our prescription orthotics can help restore balance and alleviate discomfort.
What Are Prescription Orthotics?
Prescription orthotics are medical appliances specifically tailored to correct your unique foot imbalance. Similar to how braces work on the teeth, orthotics exert gentle and consistent pressure to realign foot muscles and bones. Made from flexible molded thermoplastic, these custom devices fit comfortably in your shoes and are created from precise impressions taken of your feet.
The Benefits of Orthotics
Your feet bear the weight of your entire body and perform an incredible amount of work each day. Even the slightest imbalance can lead to discomfort and pain. With properly fitted prescription orthotics, you can experience relief from fatigue and various types of pain. These orthotics help restore the normal balance and alignment of your body, allowing your feet to function naturally and reducing pressure points, improper foot rotation, muscle strain, and abnormal forces on the legs, hips, and spine. You’ll find them so comfortable that you’ll want to wear them as much as possible.
The Wearing Experience
Once inserted into your shoes, orthotics provide a comfortable foundation for your feet. They gently and consistently guide your feet into the correct functioning position for walking, running, and standing. By enabling your feet to function properly, orthotics eliminate pain and discomfort caused by improper foot mechanics. You’ll appreciate their impact on your overall well-being.
Our Approach: Quality Shoes and Precise Casting Technique
Quality Shoes
Ideal shoes for orthotic use feature a firm heel counter, extra depth heel, extra wide toe box, and are designed to accommodate custom orthotic devices molded from your natural cast. We can guide you in selecting the right shoes for optimal orthotic support.
Precise Casting Technique
Using a non-weight bearing 3D volumetric cast in subtalar neutral, we capture precise measurements of your feet. Our technicians then scan the cast, allowing us to create orthotics tailored to your specific corrections and symptom needs. Made from engineered copolymer with complete intrinsic memory and predictability, our orthotics feature postings made from extra-firm nickelplast for optimal support and durability.
Your Journey to Foot Health Begins Here
Please note that a $100 deposit is required upon casting, which will be deducted from the total cost upon the release of your orthotics. While a prescription is not mandatory, your insurance may require one from your family physician for coverage.
